Coming to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam

There is no visa requirement for Croatians (since 15 Aug 2025) and Asian. Other nationalities please check if you require e-visa.​

ARRIVING TO HO CHI MINH CITY:
We recommend arriving in Viet Nam at least one or two days before the wedding to allow yourself time to adjust to the weather and environment. If you arrive earlier, check our recommended activities at the end of page.

To Avoid Culture Shock:
1. Always have CASH (Advise to exchange in advance)
2. Traffic will be Chaos
3. Street Food on a Plastic Chair is normal and they are maybe one of the best food
4. Be aware of SCAM , and WATCH your belongings (don't talk to random people when they come and talk to you or offer help with luggage, just ignore and walk away, it's not impolite, it's how we do it here)
5. Weather can be unpredictable (Just bring a small umbrella if you plan to walk)
6. Buy your SIM on trustable website like Klook, or your Hotel, or download AirAlo App for E-sim (Sim company: Viettel, Mobilephone, vinaphone)
Transportation
Transportation in Saigon is convenient and cheap, and you can easily book Grab - app similar to Uber and Bolt. Please download Grab in advance to set up cashless payments. Please keep in mind that traffic can be unpredictable, so allow extra travel time to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience.
Peak Hour
Traffic in Saigon is generally crowded throughout the day. Traffic Jam are more likely during peak hours :
8:00am -10:00am
4:00pm -7:00pm
We recommend adding at least 15 - 30 minutes to your planned travel time to ensure a smooth journey
Getting Around
Download: Grab app
Grab is cheap and convenient.
We advise not to book local Taxi or any other Taxi app for safety.

From The Airport
If you're staying near Sofitel, the trip from the airport may take 30- 60 minutes depending on traffic. First- time visitors are advised to book a hotel airport pick up. Alternatively, you can still book a Grab
Do note that most of taxi driver in Viet Nam do not speak English, so having your destination written down or shown on a map is helpful​

Saigon is divided into districts. We recommend searching for accommodation in districts: 1, 2, 3
Accommodation in Saigon is easy to book through all major hotel platforms, for example Booking.com, Agoda, AirBnB with plenty of great options at good prices.

We recommend using Sofitel as the location reference and finding hotel or Airbnb nearby.

Everything in Saigon is easily accessible - from pharmacies to food or convenient store - and you can also order meals affordably via Grab food or Shopee Food app.

Weather in Sai Gon on March
Sai Gon weather in March is warm and sunny, temperatures ranging from 22°C to 34°C. The humidity is relatively low. However, it can get quite hot during the day, so remember to stay hydrated and use sunscreen if you plan to spend time outdoors.​The skies are generally clear, and there is little chance of rain.
